I, Enjey Senol was born on the 12th of September 1984 in Saint Josse Ten Node, a small district in Brussels, where I was raised in a Turkish family.

As a student who draws inspiration from daily life and tries to blend several cultures within my creations, I was mostly influenced by my childhood which provided an excellent building ground. I was guided by the will to express myself and to communicate with others by both media design and literature, which is precisely why I have tried to merge them in the projects I worked on during my studies.

I started my studies at Sint Lukas Kunsthumaniora to explore my artistic/creative side to a maximum extent, which led me to interior design. It seemed only logical to finish my studies with a bachelor degree in this field.

In 2007 I had the chance to participate in the Erasmus exchange program in the capital of Turkey, Ankara. It was a unique experience for me: it allowed me to master my mother tongue and learn more about my cultural heritage.

After my Erasmus experience, I felt the need to learn more about other cultures and started working in a multicultural environment as a flight attendant. This allowed me to travel around the world ever in search of inspiration and made me discover more about myself as a person. It has truly been a once in a lifetime experience; socially, personally and professionally.

In 2011 I picked up my studies again as a working student. It goes without saying that work and studies are very hard to combine, so I decided to make a choice, and quit my job as a flight attendant to fully focus on school, which became a first priority.

I have also had the opportunity to participate in two interesting workshops during my studies in the Lucas School of Arts: glassblowing in Sars  Potterie and in Mechelen. It was an experience which definitely added to my curriculum.

Finally, living in Brussels made me fluent in 4 languages: French, Dutch, English and Turkish.

Who am I?
